Tappin' In 2025
The hugely successful tap dancing and storytelling experience Tappin’ In returned for 2025, this time in the East Midlands and beyond!
During the summer of 2025, eight groups of people from across the East Midlands and beyond took part in a 12-week programme of dance, exploring tap and body percussion.
Each group got the opportunity to perform in their local area, and will feature in a dance film and documentary to be premiered in Nottingham in September 2025.
The project elements
Sharings
As they near the end of their tap sessions, each group is hosting a Sharing session where they can show just how much they’ve learnt in a short time. Some will take to the streets in their home-town carnival, whilst others plan to give a private performance to friends and family.

Each group is also offered a number of legacy sessions in the hope that we can kick start them continuing to meet as a group.

Our participants
The Tappin’ In 2025 participants come from across the East Midlands and Staffordshire Moorlands, including Alford, Biddulph, Boston, Eckington, Mansfield, Nottingham and Ollerton. Most have little or no experience of tap dancing before. Each group has come together weekly in their local area, to spend an hour tap-dancing, listening to each other’s stories and enjoying creative activities. The emphasis is always on having fun.

Each group has also filmed a segment for our dance film both of which will be premiered at a special screening in Nottingham in September 2025. When they are available we will put links up here.
